Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Technologies

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to a type of generative technology capable of creating various content, including text, images, audio, and synthetic data (ChatGPT, NovelAI, Jasper AI, Rytr AI, DALL·E, etc.).

The Editorial Office does not object to the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies by authors to improve the language and readability of their manuscripts, provided that such use is properly disclosed during the writing process and before submission to the Editorial Office.

The Editorial Office does not permit the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies by authors for the analysis and interpretation of data within the research process.

Усі надані для публікації матеріали проходять ретельний відбір і рецензуються. Редколегія залишає за собою право відхилити статтю або повернути її на доопрацювання. Автор зобов’язаний доопрацювати статтю відповідно до зауважень рецензентів або редколегії.

Головний редактор оцінює рукописи виключно за їхнім науковим змістом, незалежно від раси, релігії, походження чи місця роботи авторів, національної належності, а також місця роботи автора (авторів).

Головний редактор повинен оперативно розглядати рукописи, подані до публікації.

Головний редактор не має права розголошувати інформацію про рукопис особам, які не залучені до професійного рецензування. Неопубліковані матеріали не можуть бути використані у власних дослідженнях членів редколегії без письмової згоди авторів.

Головний редактор повинен поважати інтелектуальну незалежність авторів.

Головний редактор несе повну відповідальність за прийняття або відхилення рукопису. Він може відхилити статтю без рецензування, якщо вона не відповідає профілю видання.

Якщо в опублікованій праці виявлено суттєві помилки, головний редактор сприяє публікації повідомлення про виправлення або спростування. Це повідомлення може бути написане особою, що виявила цю помилку, або незалежним автором.

Етичні зобов’язання головного редактора Збірника

Головний редактор повинен оперативно розглядати рукописи, подані до публікації.

Головний редактор повинен поважати інтелектуальну незалежність авторів.

Дослідження за участю людей

Статті, що описують дослідження за участю людей або використання людського біологічного матеріалу/даних, повинні відповідати таким вимогам:

• Етичне схвалення – автори повинні отримати позитивний висновок комісії з питань етики установи, де було проведено дослідження. Номер протоколу та дату засідання має бути зазначено в тексті статті.

• Інформована згода – у статті має бути чітко зазначено, що від усіх учасників (або їхніх законних представників) було отримано добровільну письмову згоду на участь у дослідженні й опублікування результатів.

• Анонімність – персональні дані (прізвища, номери документів, фото обличчя без маскування) не повинні публікуватися, якщо це не має критичного наукового значення і на це не отримано окремої згоди.

For authors

AI technologies should be used under the supervision of the author-researcher. Authors should carefully review and edit the generated output, as AI may produce content that is incorrect, incomplete, or biased. AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as authors or co-authors, nor cited as authors. Authorship implies responsibilities and tasks that can be performed only by humans.

Any use of AI tools, including large language models (LLMs), other than grammar, spelling, and punctuation checking, should be declared in the relevant section of the article.

The declaration should include the name and version of the AI tool(s), the part of the article or research that involved AI tools, the purpose of their use, a description of the human verification, and the impact on the research conclusions.

When submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that AI tools have not been used to write any substantive parts of the manuscript. Any undeclared, improper, or prohibited use of AI tools identified at any stage of the manuscript review or after publication will be considered data manipulation and may result in rejection or retraction of the article.

AI tools may be used to assist with the following tasks:

Conceptualization: generating ideas; defining objectives; formulating research questions/hypotheses; assessing feasibility and risks; testing preliminary hypotheses.
Literature review: search and systematization; drafting reviews; analysis of market trends and patent landscapes; assessment of novelty and identification of research gaps.
Methodology: research design; development of protocols; selection of methods.
Software development and automation: code generation; code optimization; process automation; development of algorithms for data analysis.
Data management: data collection, validation, cleaning, supervision, and organization.
Writing and editing: text generation; proofreading and editing; summarization; formulation of conclusions; tone adjustment; translation; reformatting; preparation of press releases or popular science materials.
Ethical and social analysis: analysis of bias and discrimination; assessment of ethical risks; monitoring of ethical compliance; monitoring of data confidentiality.
Supervision and guidance: quality assessment; identification of trends; determination of limitations; recommendations; publication support.

For the Editorial Office

Reviewers shall not upload submitted manuscripts or any part thereof to online generative AI tools, as this may violate confidentiality and authors’ proprietary rights, and, if the article contains personal data, may also violate data privacy rights.

The Editorial Office reserves the right not to provide authors with full reports on AI-use detection.

If undeclared and/or improper use of AI tools is identified and does not exceed 30% of the manuscript, the Editorial Office will request additional justification from the authors regarding the use of AI tools.

If undeclared and/or improper use of AI tools exceeding 30% of the manuscript is identified, the manuscript will be rejected.
