Annotation: The article examines the process of implementing digitalization for product making using the example of design documentation development at Yuzhnoye SDO in conformity with the Industry 4.0 concept. This concept applies four principles: compatibility, transparency, continuous support, and decentralization. The article also examines the principles of digital transformation, the advantages of integrating Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Product Data Management (PDM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), the improvement of the enterprise’s unifi ed information space, and the application of the project-based approach to product development. This approach has signifi cantly increased the effi ciency of design processes. Foremost, reducing the number of hours for approving design documentation is noted, as all data is centrally stored and processed in a single digital environment. The automated generation of workfl ow provides a high level of consistency and reduces the risk of errors during manual preparation of documents. In addition, the parametric and skeletal modeling allows for prompt changes in the structural elements of the product, which are automatically refl ected in all related documents. The article specifi cally focuses on the formulation of distinct requirements for templates, wireframes, interfaces, parameter tables, sketches, 3D models of parts and assembly units, drawings, and
bills of materials. These requirements ensure the same rules of work among all project participants, enabling professionals to navigate the product structure promptly, understand the logic of model construction, make changes, and make technical decisions. The article emphasizes that digitalization and the utilization of a single information space produce a basis for further devising innovative solutions and ensuring the enterprise’s sustainability under digital economy conditions.
