Annotation: The paper investigates an experimental and computational approach to the determination and prediction of the electrodynamic characteristics of dielectric products in the millimeter wave band. The relevance of the study is associated with the widespread use of dielectric materials in various radio engineering, telecommunication, measurement, and sensor systems, as well as with more and more demanding requirements for the accuracy in determining the electromagnetic parameters of these products at higher operating frequencies. Particular attention is paid to the determination of complex permittivity based on the results of free-space measurements using two antennas, followed by numerical data processing and electromagnetic simulation. The paper analyzes the specifi c features of the contact, coaxial, waveguide, resonant, and free-space methods for determining dielectric properties. It demonstrates that free-space techniques are advantageous for investigating complex-geometry fi nished products because they do not require the placement of the object inside a waveguide or a resonant structure and allow examination of relatively large-sized samples. The proposed approach involves measuring signal characteristics with a vector network analyzer, normalizing the results to the reference measurement, and accounting for the infl uence of antenna parameters, measurement system geometry, parasitic refl ections, transmission-path losses, and object placement accuracy. The paper discusses the feasibility of determining electromagnetic parameters by solving an inverse electromagnetic problem and conducting a numerical simulation. Combining experimental data with the geometric parameters of a product and its electromagnetic model enables the improvement of parameter estimation accuracy and the prediction of product characteristics over a specifi ed frequency range. Independent experimental verifi cation is considered a technique to assess the reliability of the results. The proposed approach can be practical for investigating dielectric materials and products for which the fabrication of specialized test specimens or the use of conventional waveguide and resonant measurement techniques is technically diffi cult or limited.

Annotation: This paper presents the results of comprehensive research on the operational performance of diaphragm separators utilized in the fuel storage and supply systems for liquid-propellant rocket engines (LPRE). The relevance of this study arises from the need to ensure the reliable separation of gas and liquid duringthe operation of aerospace systems under diff erent conditions. In this context, special attention is given to autonomous bench tests that enable the evaluation of the key performance parameters of diaphragms before integrating them into production models. The paper examines the shape transformation of spherical diaphragms under external loads, presents an analytical calculation of the initial diaphragm inversion radius, and identifi es the critical pressures that cause buckling. The results of this calculation demonstrate a satisfactory correlation with the experimental data obtained during testing. The methodology for qualifi cation tests conducted on fi ve diff erent diaphragm variants is described. Several technological and design measures have been implemented to enhance product quality. They included increasing the number of drawing passes from two to three with intermediate annealing, reducing the thickness of the blanks, and enlarging the non-rolled polar zone. It was found that the primary factor ensuring defect-free diaphragm inversion is the reduced number of roller passings along the diaphragm contour, which prevents the tearing of the surface layer. The test results for diff erent diaphragm variants confi rmed satisfactory performance. An analysis of pressure diff erentials across the diaphragms during inversion confi rmed compliance with the technical specifi cations. The study concluded that the diaphragm design, when it incorporates all corrective measures, ensures defect-free inversion while maintaining the required pressure diff erential and is recommended for further testing as part of standard tank assemblies.

Annotation: An alternative method of kerosene dehydration is proposed, which is based on application of cyclic technology of supersaturation decrease using dry nitrogen. A comparison of nitrogen and time specific consumption in dehydration operations is done and recommendations are given for their use in the cosmodromes’ launch complexes fuel storage and preparation facilities.
