Annotation: This paper in brief presents the history of cooperation between the Yuzhnoye State Design Office (YSDO) and University’s applied-physics faculty focused on drawing the enterprise specialists to teaching activity at the faculty, and University graduates – to work at the enterprise. Interchange of personnel throughout three periods is analyzed: a) in the remote past (early 1950s – late 1980s); b) watershed years at the turn of millennia (early 1990s – mid 2010s) and c) nowadays (from mid 2010s). Forecast attempt for the near future is also made. Active participation of the outstanding YSDO specialists in the organization and education at the faculty, especially at the first stage of cooperation, is shown. In particular, Y. A. Smetanin, YSDO Deputy General Designer, was the head of department №1, N. S. Shnyakin was the head of department №2, department №3 was chaired by N. F. Gerasyuta – Head of Dynamics, Ballistics and Control Department in YSDO. At that period faculty trained annually all in all ~300 young specialists for Yuzhnoye State Design Office. Great deal of problems and new challenges, which emerged in watershed 1990s, are described. Despite this, close cooperation between the YSDO and faculty was basically maintained. Thus, for example, for several years S. N. Konyukhov, YSDO General Designer, chaired the state examination board on defence of graduation works of the department №1 students. At the same time, number of aerospace specialties graduates this period has sharply decreased to 35 graduates. The present state of affairs, causing concern, is shown. Actual admission rate for the aerospace specialties for the past years suggests that starting with 2022, number of graduates for Yuzhnoye State Design Office can practically reduce to nothing.

Annotation: The paper considers the main aspects of acoustic loads measuring during the rocket launch as well as problem of staff, equipment and environment protection from destructive effect of noise, generated by rocket’s engine. Proposed is the procedure of acoustic loads measurement and calculation of the minimal acoustic noise-safe launching rocket distance, at which it is safe to put equipment and operating personnel. This procedure is based on sharing of the numerical simulation of the exhaust jet in the ANSYS software system, engineering approaches in calculation of propagation and extinction of acoustic waves and measurement of the actual values of acoustic loads with the use of several noise meters. Effective sanitary standards of noise safety were taken to define the duration and power of acoustic loads safe for the personnel. As an example of use of this procedure, results of calculation of noise levels, provided by the sound attenuating chamber, and measurement data during the pulsed wind tunnel tests have been presented. As an outcome of calculations and measurements, done by the proposed procedure, outlines of the noise-safe zone were successfully defined and number of modifications suggested for the sound attenuating chamber to reduce the acoustic loads it generates.

Reviewing Procedure

The authors of scientific articles, including of those containing original research, shall present complete information on the research, authentic results of the work performed, and objective justification of its significance. An article shall contain sufficient bibliographic references for possible representation. False of patently false statements are conceived as unethical and therefore are unacceptable. Non-processed data related to the manuscript may be requested from the authors for reviewing by the copy editors. The authors shall be ready for providing open access to such information. An article presented be an author shall be fully original work. In case of using the works of statements of other authors, the corresponding bibliographic references shall be made or quotations shall be presented.

Plagiarism may exist in multiple forms – from presenting someone else’s work as the author’s to copying of rephrasing of existing parts of someone else’s works (without indication of the author) and claiming rights to the results of someone else’s research. Plagiarism in all forms represents unethical actions and is unacceptable.

Except reviews, quoting of the works that are not directly related to the given research shall be limited. An author conduct literary search to find and quote the original publications that describe investigations closely connected with the given material. It is also necessary to properly indicate the sources of principally important conclusions used in the given work, if those conclusions were not obtained by an author.

An author shall not publish a manuscript as original in more than one journal. Presentation of one and the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal is conceived as unethical behavior and is unacceptable. An author shall not present an article published earlier for review in a journal.

The authors of publication shall be only the persons who made considerable contribution of formation of conception of the work, to development, execution of interpretation of the research presented. All those who made considerable contribution shall be indicated as co-authors. The authors of the articles are fully responsible for the content of article and for the fact of its publication.

Experimental or theoretical investigation may sometimes serve as basis for criticizing the work of another researcher. Published articles in respective cases may contain such criticism. Personal criticism, however, cannot be considered proper in any circumstances.

The authors shall inform the editorial staff on any potential conflict of interests, for example, consulting of financial interests of any company, on which the publication of results contained in the manuscript may have an impact.
